The Chair of ECJI will serve as the designated contact person for students and junior alumni from St. John’s who are interested in pursuing a medical career in the US. The Chair will also help disseminate the information regarding a prospective candidate on the various communication platforms of the SJMCAANA chapter, and the candidate will be notified if there is any alumnus offering to help with the specific needs requested.

Mohan Peter MD

Mohan started working as a coach with MBA students in 2005 at the Raymond Mason School of Business in the College of William and Mary at Williamsburg, VA. In 2008 he obtained his Certification in Coaching and Leadership Development through the Georgetown University Program in Washington DC. Mohan has continued to enhance his credentials through participation in ongoing coaching and leadership development programs especially in the domain of Emotional Intelligence at Teleos Leadership Institute in Philadelphia, Pa. He served as Adjunct Professor at Raymond Mason School of Business while working with MBA students at the school for over a dozen years.
Prior to becoming a Leadership Coach, Mohan was a Cardiac & Thoracic Surgeon for over 30 years.
He served as Staff Surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH., Fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN., and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH. Mohan was Head of Cardiac Surgery at York Hospital, York, PA., and was the Founder & Principal Cardiac Surgeon of a de novo Cardiac Surgery Program at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI.
Throughout his career Mohan has focused on training and development of residents, medical students, and healthcare professionals. Working as a Cardiac
Surgeon to develop innovative programs and enhance existing surgical programs made him aware of the need for coaching among professionals where individual productivity and organizational success are inherently linked to personal excellence. As a coach Mohan works with healthcare professionals and business executives with this goal in mind.
Mohan participated in the startup and development of First Capital Bank in York PA. The bank subsequently became part of Susquehanna Banking Corporation. During his career Mohan served as Member of Board of Directors of First Capital bank, President of local chapter of American Heart Association, President of County Medical Society and Delegate to Pennsylvania State Medical Society.
Mohan and his wife Leela live in Ashburn, Va. They have three grown daughters and seven grandchildren. He enjoys people, traveling, biking, golf and reading.
